Designing a school for global citizens, from the ground up

My contributions & impact:
Led research and design for the campus master plan concept and classroom experience of Verso.
Research methods included using card sorts and wireframe prototypes in moderated interviews and focus groups with prospective students, parents, and families.
The Challenge
How might we prepare students to be global citizens, in an era where tomorrow’s students will be expected to adapt as quickly as the world changes?
The Outcome
To help students meet these high demands, IDEO designed the space, learning experiences, and strategic vision for a new kind of independent, international school. The school is built on a set of beliefs that a strong sense of identity, active engagement, and confidence to lead are all key to being a global citizen. Key learning experiences were designed around these beliefs and tailored by age group.
The Impact
Verso International School launched in the summer of 2020 and at full capacity, will cater to 1,800 students from Early Years 2 - Grade 12 (ages 2–18).
